As sick as it seems, there are a lot of people out there praying for armegeddon. I used to be one of them. Why would anyone WANT to see an end to the world? Well, I can tell you why I once hoped for the prophecies of Nostradamus, the Mayans, and even the Revelations in the Bible, to come true.

As a child, I was tragically aware of what evils exist on this earth. My boyfriend insists that losing a cherished loved one is the biggest life changing event that could happen to a person, but I highly disagree. I think death is simply the biggest, most life changing event that has occurred in HIS life.

By the time I'd reached the age of twelve, I knew that if I had it bad....other people had it worse somewhere in the world. After my mother left my father, we had no financial support, and she had no work experience, so we lived in places that weren't even ghetto worthy at times. Seriously....if you're family lives in the projects, you probably have a kitchen. I didn't, at some points. Just rooms and a place to pee. Food was cooked in a microwave.

And way back then, I got angry at God, for making me suffer when I had done NOTHING....absolutely NOTHING....I was only a CHILD!  If anything I'd been born into the world a victim as my father was an accused child molester and an abusive one at that!

I got even angrier when I further realized how many more people were suffering in the world...and began to lose hope and faith in this "GOD" that I was told created the world and everything in it.....but couldn't make it better.

Then of course, many years later, I found God again....and apologized for being so selfish when I was younger. He hadn't intended in any way to hurt me...he'd only answered my prayers. I had been praying, before my parents separated, for an end to it, to the madness....I prayed that my mother would leave my father....every day......

And in God's eyes, I was better off poor than brutally mind-raped and misguided.

It still gets to me, though....sometimes...the uneven scale of suffering and poverty. Because it's uneccessary, it really is. There is more than enough on God's earth to go around.

And that's what brings me to Armegeddon. What good could it possibly bring in anyone's eyes?

To me.....a fresh start over. Of course, not EVERYTHING would be destroyed...there would be enough left to repopulate accordingly. There's a part of me that would like to see all the "man" created crap gone. Telephone and electrical wires for one....bet you hardly notice them, you're used to seeing them all the time, but sit back and really take it in. Do you realize that this mess of wires stretches on and on and on?
All over our land.
But it's for communication purposes....so......

And the ownership would end. Even if only temporarily. There would be too much to rebuild before men could begin thinking about dominating all the territory again, or claiming it as their own.

So if even for a short time, the aftermath of armegeddon, to me, would mean that people would have to work in harmony and unity together, to recreate what once was, or something better.

But why do we need armegeddon to make this happen? Can't we reach an enlightened state of humanity without being brought to the brink first?

Well, I think we're going to have to try. Because despite all the hype, i have a feeling that armegeddon prophesies are about as likely to follow through as Y2K.

I could be wrong, of course, after all, I'm no prophet. But the way I see it....if I can come to terms and accept mankind the way it is, I think God must have done that a long time ago.
